Quotes, historical candles, top movers, the options chain and market-hours status are supplied by our market data provider through our own servers. Company profiles and news headlines are supplied by Finnhub.

Data may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate, and should never be relied on for real trading decisions.

Orders are filled by our own simulation against the latest available quote — market buys at the ask, market sells at the bid. Orders placed while the market is closed are queued and filled at the next open, which means the price you receive can differ from the one shown when you placed it.

Real brokerages face slippage, partial fills, halts, spreads and queue priority that this simulation does not fully reproduce.

Each contract represents 100 shares of the underlying, so a quoted premium of $2.40 costs $240. Contracts stop trading at 4:00 pm Eastern on their expiration date and are settled at intrinsic value.

Greeks and implied volatility come from our data provider where available. When a thinly traded contract returns none, we compute them locally with the Black-Scholes model, which assumes European exercise and a constant volatility. Payoff charts before expiry hold volatility constant as time is varied — the same simplification every broker's profit-and-loss simulator makes, because the alternative is forecasting volatility.

Alerts are evaluated periodically rather than continuously, so a notification may arrive after the price has already moved past your threshold. Delivery is not guaranteed.
